Summary
Fair Poker is a relatively new poker room that boasts a nice layout, good
graphics and some unique special features. Fair Poker is part the of iPoker
network, using PlayTech software. The focus is on Texas Holdem games and there
is a good spread of players at cash games up to middle limits and good volume of
sit and go tournaments up to middle limits as well. Serious poker players will
find easy-to-beat games at Fair Poker, as lots of novices with questionable
skill are filling up the tables. The EXCLUSIVE $200 sign-up bonus at 100% match
is an excellent deal and only PokersList’ players are eligible.
Software and graphics
Fair Poker is part of iPoker networking, sharing software and player base with
other PlayTech licensees. The Fair Poker software has excellent graphics and the
playability is also good. The standard features are there; percentage of players
seeing the flop, hands played per hour and average pot size, buddy lists, game
history function, player notes, lots of options for music/sounds/graphics/etc,
live floor managers and all types of tournaments. One unique feature offered is
the player search tool, which can be used to locate your favorite players. The
availability of casino games and poker in the same client enables players to
take a break from the poker table by playing video poker or blackjack if they so
desire.
Ring game traffic
Fair Poker and the iPoker network have mostly low limit games running, with
approximately 400-600 real money players during peak hours in July 2005.
Tournament traffic
During peak hours there are approximately 1000-1200 tournament players at Fair
Poker in July 2005.
Game variety
The game variety is sub-standard, as the site only offers Texas Hold’em, Omaha
and tournament play. The games mostly concentrate on low limit Texas Hold’em.
The highest limits at the fixed limit tables are $10/$20, which are very low.
They offer a wide range of tournaments, most with low buy-ins although they all
have guaranteed prize pools.
Rake
There is no rake on the micro limit tables, and they start raking the pots on
$0.25/$0.50 tables and over. They follow a "no flop, no drop" policy, and they
rake $0.05 from every dollar up to a maximum of $3. This is a bit higher than
industry standards at the lower limits, where the rake is generally capped at $1
or $2.
Soft competition
The games are very loose at Fair Poker, although most games boast low limits and
the percentage of players who see the flop averages at around 40%-60%.
Sign up bonus
World-exclusive sign-up bonus for PokersList users with 100% deposit match up
to $200 sign-up bonus for first time depositors. Standard promotion is 25%
deposit match up to $100 bonus. 7.5 raked hands per bonus dollar is required to
clear the bonus. There is no posted time limit to reach the required hands. In
order to clear the maximum bonus of $200 you need to have deposited $200 and
then play 1500 raked hands. Note that the bonus needs to be claimed by emailing
the support team rakedhands@fairpoker.com once you have reached your raked hands
requirement. You can always email support and ask about your raked hands status.
Loyalty bonus
Currently, there is no loyalty bonus (but occasional promotions based on prior
player activity)
Promotions
Fair Poker hosts daily freerolls and many guaranteed prize pool tournaments. The
most notable type of promotion are the "jackpot sit and go tournaments" where
players get big jackpots for winning several consecutive tournametns. For
example, Fair Poker offers a $25,000 prize for every player who wins six
consecutive “Sit’ N’ Go” tournaments.
Support
Support can be reached 24/7 by telephone, live chat or e-mail.
Financial security
Fair Poker is part of the IOG group, which has a very solid reputation. Still,
as a brand new room without any history in dealing with customers we give just a
good score.
